A group of Spirit filled believers from India joined hands together to form the first Asian-Indian Christian Church in Charlotte North Carolina in July 2001. God blessed our humble beginning and we are a growing and thriving Church in Charlotte. We registered the church with the State of North Carolina in August 2003 as Carolinas Christian Assembly. Rev. Jacob George served as Pastor and the President of the Church since its beginning up until he was called to be with the Lord in June, 2009. Dr. Shibu Cherian is the Senior Pastor of this church.
Dr. Shibu Cherian is an Ordained Minister who currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Carolinas Christian Assembly. He also serves as the President of United In The WORD Ministries, Inc., and an Associate Trainer of ‘Naya Jeevan’ (a CRU ministry reaching South Asians in America and abroad) through which he tries to make an impact in his spare time. He is a certified Chaplain, a Bible Teacher & has a passion for teaching and mentoring. He is also a Premarital Counselor and is certified as a PREPARE-ENRICH Facilitator. Join thousands of young people who are learning how to unlock the Scriptures and memorize God’s Word! The 8-week Summer Study prepares and encourages participants to memorize and study Scripture, whether they are studying on their own or taking part within a church or other hosted group.
Using the Discovery Journal resource, the Summer Study launches the participants on a journey through the Scriptures asking questions designed to help them learn tools to discover the truths of the Bible in as little as 20 minutes a day with the option of a deeper study.
At the conclusion of the Summer Study, participants may take the National Bible Bee Qualifying Test. This test allows them to be ranked nationally among other Summer Study participants. If they score within the top 120 of their age division and have met all the other requirements, they will be invited to be a contestant at the National Bible Bee Competition (NBBC).
National Bible Bee Proclaim! Day is the culmination of the Summer Study planned by local hosts or parents. Registered participants gather for a competition that proclaims God’s Word and for a celebration of all the accomplishments from the Summer Study.
When the Summer Study is finished, young people ages 7–18 can test to qualify for the National Bible Bee Competition. The NBBC Qualifying Test takes place online and is flexible enough to be taken at home or within a host group setting.
The National Bible Bee Competition hosts 360 of the top contestants from around the nation who compete for over $100,000 in prize money in a heart-grabbing competition. But beyond testing the contestants on Bible knowledge and memorization, the National Bible Bee Competition provides an opportunity to proclaim God’s Word and find fellowship and encouragement within the body of Christ.
The National Bible Bee Competition 2018 will be held at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, TX on December 3–6.
Participants tell us repeatedly that nothing is more rewarding than going through the Summer Study with like-minded friends and family. Participants have the option to register under a host group. Being a part of a host group gives participants the wonderful opportunity to connect with others in their local community who are doing the Summer Study and to participate in the group’s NBB Proclaim! Day. Hosts of these groups offer encouragement, answer questions and host the NBB Proclaim! Day. At the NBB Proclaim! Day, participants will have the opportunity to proclaim God’s Word and be recognized for all their hard work during the Summer Study. If there is no host group in your area, grab a few friends and become a host!
