Our Story!

A group of Spirit filled believers from India joined hands together to form the first Asian-Indian Christian Church in Charlotte North Carolina in July 2001. God blessed our humble beginning and we are a growing and thriving Church in Charlotte. We registered the church with the State of North Carolina in August 2003 as Carolinas Christian Assembly. Rev. Jacob George served as Pastor and the President of the Church since its beginning up until he was called to be with the Lord in June, 2009. Dr. Shibu Cherian is the Senior Pastor of this church.

Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) is designed to engage the optimum learning age from grades first through sixth so that God’s Word will be hidden deep in children’s hearts. What they learn now can provide the motivation to live for Him into adulthood and beyond. This program uses the Bible Fact-Pak Question Cards that include over 500 questions and answers in order to make learning about the Bible not only systematic and complete, but fun and challenging. When kids are having fun, they’ll learn better, faster, and retain the information longer.
Teen Bible Quiz is a discipleship ministry geared for teens in sixth through 12th grade. Each year a different book or books of the New Testament are memorized by students. Several times during the year students attend meets within their district in order to test their ability to memorize and understand God's Word. District and Regional meets take place in the Spring of each year with the top teams advancing to Nationals. Each year thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded to students for their hard work. Three Features:
  • Gospel-Centered: Studying the Scripture draws us to become like Him.
  • Spirit-Empowered: God’s Spirit illuminates the truth of Scripture to transform hearts, expose sin, and invite us into God's purpose.
  • Personally-Responsible: A personal decision to engage with the Bible prepares us to give an answer for the hope within us.

National Bible Bee was founded with the mission to engage young people in the memorization and study of God’s Word and provide opportunities to proclaim it through local, national and broadcast competitions.

The NBB Summer Study takes young people on a journey through the Scriptures asking questions designed to help them learn tools to discover the truths of the Bible. Whether they are studying on their own or taking part within a church or other hosted group, the participants use the 8-week Discovery Journal to explore the Scriptures in as little as 20 minutes a day with the option of a deeper study.

At the end of the Summer Study, participants have the opportunity to qualify for the National Bible Bee Competition. The NBBC hosts 360 of the top contestants from around the nation who compete for over $100,000 in prize money. But beyond testing the contestants on Bible knowledge and memorization, the National Bible Bee Competition provides an opportunity to proclaim God’s Word and find fellowship and encouragement within the body of Christ.

The Influencers youth ministry focuses on equipping and encouraging Christian young people to be salt and light, agents of change, influential role models in the world. An effective Christian influencer has to know what cultural influences exist, know how to respond to that influence, and how to influence the culture for Christ. All day, every day, each of us are confronted with innumerable words, images, and actions that influence our spirits, souls, and bodies. In the youth group meetings we explore specific areas of influence by examining the Scriptures, learn how to practically apply those Scriptures, and engage in age-based group discussion to address all questions, encourage one another, and hold one another accountable. Meetings are held at 12601 Idlewild Rd. from 7-9pm on the second and fourth Friday of each month of the academic year (September though May).
